Contest of Skilled Workers Held in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- The "Contest of Skilled Workers according to Occupations and Sectors of National Economy-2023", which was opened in May, came to a close on September 22.
The contest, divided into welding, lathing, pipe-making, plastering and sewing, brought together skilled workers in various fields and types of occupation across the country.
A contest of tailors took place at the Pyongyang Bag Factory from September 13 to 22 as the end of the contest.
Kim Yong Im from the Pyongyang Bag Factory came first in the contest attended by more than 50 tailors selected from different parts of the country.
There was a ceremony of closing the "Contest of Skilled Workers according to Occupations and Sectors of National Economy-2023".
Present there were Minister of Labor Jin Kum Song, officials concerned and officials of all provincial people's committees and working people.
At the ceremony, diplomas, trophies and medals were awarded to those highly appreciated in the contest of tailors.
Also, citations and prizes of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea were conferred on organizations of Pyongyang Municipality, Jagang Province and the Ministry of Railways which distinguished themselves in the contest.
