Efforts Paid to Improving Scientific Accuracy of Weather Forecast
Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- Officials and forecasters of the National Meteorological Forecast Squad of the State Hydro-meteorological Administration are putting spurs to the work for improving the scientific accuracy and promptness of weather forecast.
They are directing efforts to decisively boosting the accuracy of short-, medium- and long-term forecasts.
They are pushing ahead with the development of more rational precipitation forecasting system and disastrous weather detection system while improving the scientific level of short-term forecasting model.
They are ensuring the accuracy of medium-term forecast on the higher level by improving the disastrous weather forecast system.
Meanwhile, they are paying efforts to improving the long-term agricultural weather forecast system.
Officials and forecasters are working hard to establish more scientific methods of forecasting drought expected in spring and heavy rain expected in autumn and of forecasting weather data such as temperature, precipitation and sunshine for tens of days.
They are also directing efforts to raising the scientific accuracy of forecasting crop growth and agro-meteorological information.
