People's Code Guaranteeing Advantages Peculiar to DPRK​

Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- The DPRK people are greeting the 50th institution anniversary of the Socialist Constitution in the shining course of struggle this year which won a great victory to be specially recorded in the history of the nation and put the dignity and prestige of the state on a high level under the leadership of the great Party Central Committee.

The promulgation of the "Socialist Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" by President Kim Il Sung on December 27, Juche 61 (1972) is a historic event of epochal significance in the development of the DPRK, the political life of the Korean people and the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Over the past 50 years after the promulgation of the Socialist Constitution, many laws reflecting the people-first principle have been enacted, revised and supplemented.

The President saw to it that the public health law, the law on the nursing and upbringing of children, the socialist labor law, the land law and other laws related with various fields were enacted.

Chairman Kim Jong Il legalized the President's idea and exploits for the state building and took epochal steps to ensure that the state laws creditably play their role as a means of defending Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un made sure that the Socialist Constitution was glorified as Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il Constitution and the law on the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun was adopted.

And the law on enforcement of the universal 12-year compulsory education was adopted at the Sixth Session of the 12th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK in September 2012 and the DPRK law on childcare at the Sixth Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly in February 2022.

Among the newly enacted and revised laws are the law on emergency anti-epidemic work, the law on medicines, the law on medical examination, the law on disinfection of imports, the law on the prevention of disaster by earthquake and volcano and the rescue of victims and the law on emergency response. Reflected in those laws are the Workers' Party of Korea's noble outlook on the people.

The adoption of the DPRK laws on socialist rural development, city and county development and supply of cement to cities and counties resulted in an emotional new era of regional changes.

And the adoption of the law of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly "On further consolidating the position of the self-defence nuclear weapons state" and the law of the DPRK on aerospace development made it possible to firmly consolidate the comprehensive national power of the country, and thus the Korean people came to realize their dreams and ideal of building a dignified powerful state envied by the world.

The Seventh Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly in September 2022 adopted the law of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly "On the policy of the nuclear forces of the DPRK". It made the position of the DPRK, a responsible nuclear weapons state and powerful independent state, irreversible. It also strikingly demonstrated the will for defending the sovereignty and national interests and provided a reliable legal weapon conducive to the peace and prosperity of the Korean peninsula, the region and the rest of the world.

This event of special significance in the history of the nation is a precious outcome of the steadfast independent faith, strong and bold decision, self-sacrificing devotion and warm love for the country and the people of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who achieved the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force and guaranteed the eternal prosperity and happiness of the nation.
