KCNA Report on Revolution in Past Ten-Year Construction

Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The Korean Central News Agency on Monday issued a report on the fact that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un unfolded a grand plan to bring about a revolution in construction as required by the development of the era and wisely guided the struggle for materializing it over the past ten years.

According to the report, the first great workshop for officials in the field of construction held on December 8, Juche 102 (2013) was a historic event that set a milestone of the struggle for ushering in a great golden age of construction and gave a powerful stimulus to bringing about a radical turn in construction.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un gave instructions on numbers of architectural layouts and completed each of them despite busy schedule of dealing with lots of important Party and state affairs.

He has continued his field guidance to construction sites day and night, rainy or snowy in order to give detailed instructions on the orientation and ways for construction, which served as immortal guidelines for thoroughly embodying the people-first principle in construction.

Under the care of Kim Jong Un who devotes all his efforts to the people's happiness, lots of bases for cultural and leisure activities, mass sports centers, etc. have been built for the people, all of which are fully equipped to be able to serve the people's interests and convenience at the highest level.

There is a hospital village in Munsu area of Pyongyang among a lot of architectural wealth created in the great era of Kim Jong Un on the people-first principle.

Baby homes, orphanages, primary and middle schools for orphans, schoolchildren's palaces, children's camps, etc. built in different places of the country are the precious fruits of the warm paternal love of Kim Jong Un for the people and children.

What the respected General Secretary has always given priority to and devoted his all to in the construction is the issue of dwelling houses for the people to live in.

True to the noble intention of the Party Central Committee, new streets including Ryomyong Street perfectly reflecting the vital demand of the people came into being one after another.

Local areas are undergoing changes as evidenced by the appearance of Samjiyon City, an ideal mountainous town built as a model of local construction.

Under the bright blueprint for capital construction set forth at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, the construction of 50 000 flats is proceeding in full swing in Pyongyang City as an undertaking to materialize the cherished desire of our Party, being reflective of the noble idea of believing in the people as in Heaven and the idea of Juche-oriented architectural beauty of the Party Central Committee.

Our architecture has made remarkable leaping progress amid the vigorous construction revolution, ushering in a new era of cultural efflorescence in the 21st century.

Thanks to the noble loyalty and moral obligation and outstanding leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who opens a new chapter of perpetuating the memory of the great leaders, the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun was most solemnly and perfectly rebuilt as a grand monument for the immortality of the leaders which can not be found anywhere else in the world in its content, form and scale.

The Korean Revolution Museum was rebuilt as a grand seat of education in the revolutionary traditions and a great treasure house of Kim Il Sung's Korea, and the Youth Movement Museum was built as a monumental edifice.

Kim Jong Un saw to it that a new model was constantly created in the construction in line with the demand of the times and the whole country was spruced up with it as a spark.

An architectural revolution was brought about in the construction of Samjiyon City to provide a springboard for the local construction of the country.

A wonderful terraced residential district with the best convenience and modern beauty was built for ordinary working people at the riverside of the Pothong River in the capital city, and thus a new type of architecture was created, making it possible to further raise the level of modernization and civilization of the capital and local cities.

A powerful struggle is underway to create a new standard of local industrial factories in Kimhwa County of Kangwon Province, and an operation is being unfolded to complete the technical remodeling of local industrial factories in all cities and counties across the country at an early date, on the basis of the experience gained in the county.

The energetic guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made it possible to create world-startling stories in construction and let the flames of a great leap sweep the whole country over the past 10 years.

Solider-builders completed the project for construction of Masikryong Ski Resort in just less than one year to others' surprise. They cut rocks in the mountain to build ski courses totaling over 100 000 meters in hundreds of thousands of square meters of areas.

A great number of edifices appeared in 2013, typical of which are the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum which turned into a comprehensive educational centre and a grand open-air museum in just 10 months, the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery that was built as a grand monument, a scientists street that reminds one of a city, dwelling houses of distinctive styles for educators and sportspersons, modern medical service centers, a large all-purpose water park and horse-riding service center.

Young vanguard built the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station as an imposing symbol of a youth power.

The Satellite Control Centre of the National Aerospace Development Administration was built as a monumental edifice in the era of the Workers' Party in just eight months, and the Koam-Tapchon railway section was completed in a short span of time, which opened up a new path in laying railways in the country.

Modern streets as huge as cities have also sprung up year after year thanks to the initiative and leadership of the Party Central Committee.

Unprecedented construction campaigns were waged on all fronts of the economic sectors including pilot sectors of the national economy as well as the basic industry, light industry and agriculture.

The last 10-year history of construction clearly proved that the future of our socialist country and our people is bright thanks to Kim Jong Un who is adding luster to the golden age of construction based on the people-first principle with the most revolutionary and scientific architectural programme of Juche and by his tireless patriotic devotion.
