Production of Hothouse Vegetables Increases in DPRK
Pyongyang, December 6 (KCNA) -- The agricultural sector of the DPRK put efforts into the hothouse vegetable farming, resulting in excellent harvest this year.
Thanks to the devoted efforts of the officials and workers of the agricultural sector, the hothouse vegetable production plan made by the Ministry of Agriculture was over-fulfilled at 104 percent.
Agricultural workers of Pyongyang City produced hothouse vegetables of over 300 ton per hectare.
Co-op farms properly arranged different varieties, and met technological requirements in manuring, selected species, tiered cultivation, soil management and environmental preservation, thus producing more than last year.
Nampho City, North Phyongan Province and other regions actively introduced sci-tech and three-dimensional cultivation methods and thus produced lots of cucumber, tomato, pepper, spinach and the like, contributing to improving the people's diet.
