Animals Increase at Central Zoo


Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- The number of animals is increasing at the Central Zoo of the DPRK.

Han Song Hwa, an official of the zoo, said:

More than 200 species of animals have reproduced at least 1 000 young until now from the beginning of this year.

Giraffes, sent by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, dropped their young in June and July. Spheniscus humboldri, presented to Kim Jong Un as gift by a Russian personage on August 5, Juche 102 (2013), brought forth two young in June.

Korean tigers bred five young in March and April.

Among the animals reproduced are also lemur catta, vervet monkey and hamadryas baboon personages of different countries presented to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il as gifts.

Young of parrots like Ara ararauna hatched out.
