Koryo Celadon, Pride of Korean Nation
Pyongyang, January 13 (KCNA) -- The Korean people have long created Koryo ceramics with beautiful shapes, exquisite color and different patterns.
Koryo ceramic can be divided into celadon, white, black, crimson, brown and other porcelains according to ground color and divided into embossed, concave, inlaid, makeup and other porcelains according to decoration techniques.
Among them, celadon was excellent. In particular, inlaid celadon was the best. The color of Koryo celadon vividly represented the beautiful color of jade. Thus, world people have regarded it as treasure.
It was created and produced in the whole period of Koryo (918-1392) and its excellent tradition has been conveyed until now.
The Porcelain Creative Group of the Mansudae Art Studio in the DPRK has further developed the Koryo celadon, a pride of the Korean nation, in keeping with the modern aesthetic sense to create many peculiar ceramic wares suitable to thoughts and feelings of the people.
