S. Korean Body Calls for Punishment of Those Chiefly Responsible for Kwangju Massacre
Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The People's Sovereignty Solidarity in south Korea released a statement on May 17 in demand of the punishment of those chiefly responsible for the Kwangju massacre, according to the south Korean internet paper Jaju Sibo.
The statement said that it has been 40 years since the May 18 Popular Resistance, adding that the spirit of Kwangju citizens who fought against Chun Doo Hwan military dictatorship is still illumining the way ahead of the people.
As long as there are Chun Doo Hwan and his group and the "United Future Party" and other corrupt groups defaming the May 18 Kwangju Popular Resistance and patronizing the murderers, it is impossible to realize the democratization of the south Korean society, the statement said.
It called on all the people to turn out in the struggle to eliminate the deep-seated evil forces.
