KCNA Commentary Ridicules LKP's Attempts for Mega Merger of Conservatives

Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- Of late the "Liberal Korea Party" of south Korea driven into a tight corner presses for mega merger of conservatives.

Kim Pyong Jun, chairman of the party emergency measure committee, and Kim Song Thae, floor leader of the party, and other bigwigs are making desperate efforts to win over Hwang Kyo An, ex-"prime minister", O Se Hun, ex-mayor of Seoul City, and Won Hui Ryong, governor of Jeju Province, to its side while making eyes at the "Parun Mirae Party" with honeyed words.

They allowed the accession to the party of thousands of members of the "south Korean flag unit," who set themselves against the impeachment of Park Geun Hye, claiming that they will not be excluded from conservative forces.

The move for mega merger of conservatives is an open challenge and declaration of war against candlelight demonstrators as it is a coup attempt against the "regime" advocating democracy and reform and for the representation of nine nightmarish years of conservative "regime".

The LKP took a wrong choice for its way out.

Nobody will lend an ear to the call of the LKP forsaken by the people.

The LKP's call for mega merger of conservatives precipitates their split. It is fully proved in the calls against the merger.

The "Parun Mirae Party" asserts that there is no merger with LKP doomed to defeat in next "general elections", describing its move as an attempt to win over ultra-right elements and riff-raffs to it.

Won Hui Ryong, governor of Jeju Province, contended that rejoining in the LKP means losing a political life and Kim Hyong O and Pak Kwan Yong, ex-speakers of the "National Assembly", and other conservative dissidents turn down the call of the LKP for accession.

Heard among the LK" members are the voices that the group of Kim Mu Song should be dismantled first of all to realize the merger and they can not go together with the "south Korean flag unit", escalating the friction and conflict among echelons, lawmakers and factions.

The democratic and reform political parties of south Korea including the Minju Party, the Party for Democracy and Peace and the Jongui (Justice) Party and south Korean people from all walks of life say that they will cope with the attempts by the LKP in solidarity with the ruling camp, ridiculing them as the "operation for a dead body" and "collection of riff-raffs".

All this goes to clearly prove that the LKP is, indeed, a living corpse.

The LKP is the first target for liquidation as it is the worst corrupt force in the south Korean society.
